  By layering pure color to render the physical world into darkness, Dahl-Berg brings the viewer to The Fine Line of Perception, between fact and fantasy: Is the detail I see really there in the canvas or is my mind making it up?  And as we delve deeper into this query, we begin to explore the fact of fantasy: What lies within the dark recesses of my mind? Yet, unlike abstraction, Dahl-Berg’s vision is tethered to the objective reality of The Mojave's Great Basin . . .
